The AgTech Hackathon is back in 2019 with a new set of challenges and experiences for participants.
Held during New Zealand AgriFood Week from 15-16 March, with the support of Accelerate25, Hackathon connects tech talent to primary industries in New Zealand.

For the first time in its three-year history, Hackathon has opened up registrations to the whole of New Zealand, with registrations coming in from Auckland through to Christchurch. Talent Central have also worked with Hackathon to include 18 high school students to take part in the event.

Participating in, and potentially being a winner of an award at the Hackathon, could lead to exciting career opportunities. This is something one of last year’s winner Mitchell Coleman has found, as he now works for Levno, the company whose problem he was tasked with solving.

A series of challenges have been released for participants as supplied by five of Hackathon’s partners; LIC, PF Olsen, Fonterra, Gallagher and Zespri. These challenges include looking at pasture management, water monitoring and reporting, and the training and upskilling of farmers.

The AgTech Hackathon expo and awards ceremony is open to the public.
