The Horowhenua District is currently going through a phase of massive growth, and that means there are plenty of opportunities for the area’s young people.
Last month the Whanganui District Council Holdings Limited (WDCHL), was one of the major recipients of Provincial Growth Funding, receiving $400,000 towards a business case to investigate an Advanced Aviation Hub at Whanganui Airport. The hub will operationally become part of the New Zealand International Commercial Pilot Academy, giving the Academy the potential to become an internationally significant pilot training organisation.
“Good things take time” is certainly a mantra Michael Barbour, project manager of the National Driver Training Centre (NDTC), Manfeild would stand by. Last month, after over two years of preparation, the Centre, based in Feilding was awarded $2.8 million in Provincial Growth Funding towards the expansion of its programme.
